PM Oli, NC President Deuba meet; Deuba thanks PM for revoking ordinances

Chairperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and major opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) held a meeting at Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, on Friday.

During the meeting called by PM Oli, NC President Deuba thanked the PM for withdrawing the ordinances he had brought last Monday and demanded action against those who brought a parliamentarian to Kathmandu in an abduction style , according to NC’s party office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel.
Government revoked the ordinances relating to political parties and constitutional council following the criticism from all quarters.

During the meeting, Deuba also urged the PM to expedite the testing of COVID-19 in community level to contain the outbreak of the deadly infection. Furthermore, he suggested the PM providing adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical appliances to all health workers working during COVID-19 crisis. He also viewed that any activities that would discourage the health workers in this crisis should be ended immediately.

Suggestion was also furnished for earliest relief packages for daily wage earners, students, unemployed ones and small and big entrepreneurs.
Chief secretary Poudel shared that Deuba also drew the attention of the Head of the State towards rescuing the Nepalis abroad who were in dire state. The major opposition party chief also alerted the PM not to bring any matters of dispute at this juncture of time when the country was battling the COVID-19.RSS
