Fire guts 1,000 chickens in Tanahun village

As many as 1,000 broiler chickens were destroyed after a fire broke out in a poultry farm at Bhakunthok of Bhanu municipality-2 in Tanahun district on Friday morning.
The district police office said that property worth around Rs 700 thousand was damaged in the fire. The chickens were of five weeks and supposed to get ready for sale in around a week.
Poultry farmer Hari Basyal said that the fire broke out at around 3:00 in the night after an electricity leakage.
A team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Purna Bahadur has collected details of the loss, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Tanahun Lilaraj Lamichhane said.
Likewise, the ward chairman of the municipality has promised to compensate the farmer for the loss incurred in the fire.RSS
